Ngaphandle Kokukholwa Akathokozi is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged communities through health, education, and socio-economic empowerment initiatives. Our efforts are rooted in collaboration, advocacy, and capacity-building, aligning with our vision of a future where all communities experience improved well-being, social equality, and sustainable prosperity.
1. Health and Wellness Initiatives
- Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA):
We actively promote awareness and preventive measures against sexual exploitation and abuse, particularly in vulnerable communities.
- HIV Testing and TB Screening Campaigns:
We collaborate with organizations like NACOSA, ANOVA, and the National Department of Health to provide accessible testing, screening, and referrals.
- Drug Awareness and Rehabilitation Support:
In partnership with SANCA and other stakeholders, we conduct community outreach campaigns addressing drug abuse, offering harm reduction strategies, and facilitating access to treatment.
- Sports for Health:
Leveraging partnerships with the Diepkloof Soccer League Association, we use sports to promote healthy living and re-engage individuals affected by drug addiction.

2. Education and Skills Development
-Youth Skills Training Programs:
We partner with the City of Johannesburg and other organizations to provide skills training, such as Boiler Making, Welding, and other accredited courses aimed at reducing unemployment.
-Banking and Management Workshops:
We train beneficiaries on programs like the National Certificate in Generic Management and Further Education and Training Certificate in Banking to enhance employability and entrepreneurial potential.
- Digital Literacy and Community Dialogue Training:
Empowering community members with essential digital skills and fostering meaningful discussions on socio-economic challenges.
3. Advocacy and Human Rights
- Stigma Reduction Campaigns:
Advocating for the rights of people who use drugs, we focus on reducing discrimination and providing free, judgment-free services.
- Harm Reduction Programs:
These include screening, counseling, and referrals for individuals struggling with addiction, in alignment with international best practices.
4. Capacity Building for Partner Organizations
- Support for 12 NPOs Under NACOSA:
We strengthen the operational capacity of partner organizations by offering training on financial management, reporting, and resource allocation.
- Consultative and Strategic Workshops:
Organizing quarterly reviews, financial training, and SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) workshops to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
5. Community Empowerment Projects
- Community Outreach Campaigns:
Utilizing sports, dialogue, and cultural activities to engage with the community and address health, education, and social challenges.
- Collaboration with Local Stakeholders:
Partners include Pick & Pay, the Department of Social Development, and PMSkill Company, ensuring resources and expertise are pooled for greater impact.
