2018: The Beginning

NKA Soweto was officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2018, founded by a group of passionate individuals committed to addressing poverty, unemployment, and social inequality in Soweto. Initially operating with a team of volunteers, we focused on small-scale community projects, including food distribution and educational support for underprivileged children.

In 2019, we expanded our focus to include skills development programs for unemployed youth, addressing the growing need for employability in the community. Despite limited funding, we successfully reached over 100 beneficiaries, setting the stage for future growth.

  • Distributing food parcels to families in need.
  • Organizing awareness campaigns about COVID-19 prevention.

2025: A Promising Future

As we continue into 2025, NKA Soweto is more determined than ever to expand its reach and impact. Despite facing challenges such as resource limitations and stigma in certain areas, our resilience and the support of our partners have enabled us to thrive. We remain committed to building a future where every individual in Soweto has the opportunity to succeed.

Challenges Overcome:

Resource Constraints: Through strategic partnerships and innovative fundraising, we addressed funding limitations.

Stigma and Discrimination: By raising awareness and fostering community dialogue, we have made significant strides in reducing stigma, particularly around drug use and HIV.
